Welcome to the Insurance Women of Fresno’s
(IWOF) web-site. We hope that this site will continue to provide information and resources that will be helpful to our
members and others in the insurance industry community for many years to come. If you or someone you know is interested in
getting more involved in the community around you, please contact us. Whether you are looking for educational opportunities,
employment referrals or just looking for some other adults with common interests to network and spend time with, IWOF may

Get to Know your 2010/2011 Officers
Read On: President – Catherine (Cathy) Temple,
AIS, CPIW, DAE
Cathy joined the insurance industry
as a typist for a Managing General Agency in 1991. Cathy has a California Agent/Broker license and
completed INS 21, 22,23 and 25. Currently Cathy is an underwriter for Sierra Specialty Insurance
Services, Inc.
Cathy joined IWOF in 2002 and was
awarded Rookie of the Year in 2003. She won the California State Confidence While Communicating. Speak-off
in 2005 and was the runner-up at the NAIW Region VIII CWC Speak-off in 2006. Cathy was also honored by
the Insurance Women of North San Diego County with the Rising Star Award in 2006. Cathy received the Insurance
Member of the Year Award from IWOF in 2008. Cathy has served as director for 2 years and held the office
of Treasure, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and is currently President of IWOF.
Cathy has also served on several committees at the State and Regional Levels. She enjoys the relationships
that have been developed through her involvement in this association.
Cathy is a wife, mother & grandmother. She loves spending time with
her family. Her hobbies include, walking, facebook, playing cards, cooking and coffee, lunch or dinner
with friends.
1st Vice-President -
Alison Holmes AIS, CISR, CPIW
Alison
started her insurance career over 30 years ago. Alison has worked at the company level, retail side and currently with a wholesale market. Alison is currently
a Commercial Lines Underwriter at Burns & Wilcox.
Alison has been an active member of IWOF for 7 years. Alison has served on the Board of Directors for 2 years, held the office of Secretary, 2nd Vice-President and currently holds the office of 1st Vice-President.
Alison has chaired various committees, including Program/Social, Awards &
May Luncheon. The Insurance Women of Fresno awarded Alison the
Insurance Women of the Year, in May of 2009.
Alison enjoys riding her Harley Davidson, traveling
and spending time with her husband, children and granddaughter who all reside in the
Fresno Area.
2nd Vice-President – Noelia “Noi” Weissbrod, CISR, CPIW
Noi is a CSR at DiBuduo & DeFendis Ins. Brokers, LLC. Noi joined D&D
in December 2005. She obtained her CISR & CPIW designation within the last 4 years. She
has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. She’s worked as an Underwriting Assistant in
the past for such companies as Transamerica, Northbrook, Fireman’s Fund & Chubb. In the past
Noi has volunteered for the D&D Project (helping Pinedale schools) & collecting books for our US Troops.
She is involved in a local book club and enjoys golf, boogey boarding, wine tasting & movies. Noi
& her husband Alan have one son, Derek.
Secretary – Esmeralda Mendez, CPIW
Esmeralda joined the Insurance Women of Fresno
in 2005 and was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2006. Esmeralda has served as director for 2 years and currently is on her 2nd
year as Secretary. Esmeralda has also served on several committees at the State and Local Levels. The committee
that is dear to her heart is Community Action; she enjoys helping others in need.
Esmeralda has worked in the Insurance Industry for ten plus years. Currently
she is an underwriter for Sierra Specialty Insurance Services, Inc.
Esmeralda has been married for Seven years and has a beautiful 3 year old daughter (Aliya) and an energetic
5 year old son (Emiliano). Treasuer - Kathleen Soares, CIC, AAI, AIS, CPIW Kathleen has been in the insurance industry for over 35 years and a member of the Insurance Women
of Fresno since 2004. She is currently employed as an Account Manager at Agri-Center Insurance Agency, Inc. handling both
Commercial and Life & Health accounts. She is the Treasurer for Insurance Women of Fresno and
the Education Liaison for the CA Council. She has been on the IWOF Board of Directors as well as Education Chair and this
year was honored as the Insurance Woman of the Year. She enjoys education and has completed the CIC, AAI,
AIS and the NAIW CPIW and DAE designation programs. Kathleen loves beading
and her dog, Molly, and has been know to crochet baby blankets.
